Catherine "Kay" Haley Hall May 4, 1926 - Aug. 3, 2021 Catherine (Kay) Haley Hall passed away in Carmel Nursing Home, Staten Island. Kay was born in Grant City. When she was 5-years-old she moved to Inwood, Manhattan along with her father and threesiblings after the death of her Mother, Edna Power Haley. The years in Inwood were happy memories as she recalled living in an building with her mother's parents and eight siblings. Kay's father remarried and the family moved back to Grant City, in 1937. Her younger brother, Cornelius, passed soon after. Kay graduated from New Dorp High School. She was especially close with her sister, Betty, and brother, Frank. After graduation, Kay worked at American Surety in Manhattan. In 1955, Kay married the love of her life, Sheldon (Skip) Hall, had her first daughter, Evelyn, and was a stay-at-home mom. Kay had three more children, Elizabeth, Eileen and Ted, over the next few years, and longed for time outside the home. She returned to part-time work in Manhattan, at J.P. Morgan, in 1967. The family enjoyed summers at the Great Kills Swim Club and the Police Camp in the Catskills. Kay retired in 1990 and enjoyed a tour across the country and many winters in Florida with Skip. Kay appreciated these "golden years" with Skip who passed in 2004. Kay is survived by her daughters, Evelyn Shanahan, Elizabeth (Fred) Broker, Eileen (Joe) Monreale; daughter-in-law, Eileen Keyes Hall; grandchildren, James (Danielle) Monreale, Alexandra Monreale, Mathew and Brendan Hall; great-grandson, Mason Monreale; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Ted, and her grandson, Michael Shanahan. Memorial Service with cremains at Hanley Funeral Home on August 31, 2021 (10 a.m.-12 noon) with a Mass at 11:45am at Hanley.
